Back on track
SEGA' has today announced London 2012: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games will include Kinect features. Here's the first trailer, with work in progress screenshots below. CREATE.. Continue Reading »
News: Binary Domain Trailer is Bigger Than You Think
New release dates too
SEGA's cyborg shooter Binary Domain will support Kinect for voice commands, which seems to be the in thing with hardcore games this year: Mass Effect 3 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will also support the sensor for talking to your team. None of them has quite the same level of madcap action as Binary Domain. Coming from Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza creator.. Continue Reading »

Happy New Fear
Not tried out Rise of Nightmares? SEGA's about to unleash a playable demo of its first-person frightener on 3rd January. If the demo entices you to give the game a closer look, it's currently available for peanuts at most retailers in North America and Europe, so it won't break the bank to give yourself a good scare. Make sure to read our Rise of Nightmares review for our in-depth.. Continue Reading »
News: Rise of Nightmares Racked Up a Scary 200,000 Sales
The horror
SEGA's Rise of Nightmares was a big hope for the future of hardcore gaming on Kinect, but the company's internal sales figures have revealed it didn't quite do the business. The sensor's first and only 18/M-rated game has sold 200,000 copies around the world since launch. When you consider the sensor has shifted around 10m units in the past year, 200,000 doesn't seem like a lot, but we.. Continue Reading »
News: Rise of Nightmares Comic is Huge, Weird and So, So Gory
So ticks all the boxes
Regardless of what you thought about Rise of Nightmares, it wasn't short on blood and guts, and neither is the new comic put out by SEGA to promote the game. Titled Rise of Nightmares: The Lost Tapes of Roland Childs, the comic is pretty gory but also pokes a little fun at itself in places, particularly exactly why there are so many cassette tapes lying around. It's twisted.. Continue Reading »
News: In Rise of Nightmares, You Are the Controller
And a killer too
Rise of Nightmares is out this week, and in a last-ditch attempt to get you to part with your money SEGA has released a new trailer showing exactly why this game is heading to Kinect: you are the controller. Stressing the fact you don't need buttons or thumbsticks, the latest video also arrives with a heavy dose of sarcasm and a few pointed barbs at those who said a hardcore game.. Continue Reading »

Fear takes over
SEGA's scare-a-thon Rise of Nightmares is due for release in September, according to the latest release schedule from the publisher. Early rumours suggested the game would be released by now but SEGA presumably saw sense in not releasing a frightening game during the longest, brightest days in the year. Check out this Rise of Nightmares trailer to gear you up for September. Continue Reading »

Kinect commands are confirmed

The company will be hoping creative lightning strikes twice when Yakuza man Toshihiro Nagoshi's next title Binary Domain releases in February next year. SEGA sent over a new trailer setting the scene for the shooter's story, which also revealed the game's.. Continue Reading »
News: SEGA Reaffirms Commitment to Kinect
Still on (hover) board
SEGA's sole contribution to the Kinect catalogue so far is Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, with Rise of Nightmares out soon, but don't expect the publisher's support to stop there. SEGA West president Mike Hayes recently confirmed to Games Industry that the company will continue to release Kinect-compatible games in future: And on Kinect we've definitely bought into that with.. News: Rise of Nightmares Trailer Goes Bump in the Night
No gameplay though
SEGA's Rise of Nightmares is just one of the hardcore games coming to Kinect later this year, and in case you haven't caught the game's E3 2011 trailer yet here it is. The trailer doesn't really give away too much about the game, other than making obvious its sources of inspiration — step forward, Saw — but if the game is half as slick as this trailer we'll be pleased. Rise.. Continue Reading »
Out Today: Virtua Tennis 4 (North America)
Court date
After a reasonably successful showing in Europe, SEGA's Virtua Tennis 4 is ready to take on the tennis tour of North America, releasing across the region today. Kinect controls are only available in one area of the game, and are restricted to offline play only, so it's unlikely Kinect fans will invest a huge amount of playtime here. However, those who want to play with a standard.. Continue Reading »

Drop the racquet
Xbox 360 gets its second "Better with Kinect Sensor" game today with the release of Sega's Virtua Tennis 4 across Europe. The game is only playable with Kinect in a two-player Exhibition game or Party mode, so don't expect to take on the world's best players online using your sensor. Nor can you take on the offline career World Tour mode using Kinect, so keep your Xbox.. Continue Reading »

Switch off the racket
There's high hopes for Sega's Virtua Tennis 4, the first Kinect-enabled tennis game to hit the market. Rumour: Rise of Nightmares Due for Release in June
BBFC reckons so
Sega's horrortastic Rise of Nightmares is well on its way to stores, as ratings are popping up all over the place: last week the ESRB rated Rise of Nightmares, and now the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has had a stab, slapping an 18 certificate on the game. According to the BBFC site, the game will release in the UK on 15th June 2011. Of course, this is just a rumour.. Continue Reading »
News: Rise of Nightmares ESRB Rating Heavy On the Sex and Violence
The mature Kinect game you've been waiting for
Sega's famous for its blue skies, but Rise of Nightmares sounds as far away from the Green Hill Zone as you can get, if the game's ESRB rating is to be believed. Sex, violence and bad language all combined to net the game a Mature rating from the ratings board, the first Kinect game to carry that particular badge of honour. The game will be played from..
