Ahh, our dear Kinect Game Boat. When you were released in America last year, how you were mocked. "Why on Earth create an inflatable raft for a single game?", asked bewildered gamers. "This is the most pointless thing I ever saw," they cried, "and at such a ridiculous price too!" The Internet lit up as reports of this crazy accessory flooded games sites.
Slowly the chilling truth emerged: the Game Boat is real, and it's travelling the world. After months of jokes, the accessory is about to run aground in the UK, with due to start selling it on 29th July.
The real kicker? This ridiculous raft will set you back £39.99, more than the price of an actual Kinect game, and it can only be used with Kinect Adventures, a game that was free in the first place.
It's not all doom and gloom, though. You can actually use the boat on real water, like at the seaside or the swimming pool.

I find setting up my Kinect in the bathroom more effective, I like to fill my bath tub quarter full, to get the effect of the rapids splashing on my feet.
