But all is not as it seems
This year is the 20th anniversary of the original Sonic the Hedgehog on Mega Drive, a truly auspicious moment in gaming. Sega has already kicked off the birthday celebrations with a brand new teaser trailer of a new game — presumably the recently rumoured Sonic Generations — that finishes with the logos for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the relevant online services. That's not all, though.
Sonic fans have scoured every pixel of the trailer, with the final text displayed particularly intriguing:
KINECT, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox Live and the Xbox logo are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies and are used under license from Microsoft.
While some are quick to assume this is a confirmation of Kinect support for the upcoming hedgehog title, the truth is that these are standard legal lines displayed on countless third-party trailers: we found the same text in a trailer for non-Kinect title WWE All-Stars, for example. This doesn't completely discount the idea of a Kinect-controlled Sonic game — one that can hopefully improve on Sonic Free Riders — it's certainly not a confirmation of the sensor's input either.
Kinect or no Kinect, here's the trailer anyway because we love the little blue guy:

Nice concept... but I get a feeling this won't be as awesome as Sonic Colors.
...I have very mixed feelings about Sonic's 20th anniversary, honestly, particularly how it revolves around the comic and the supposed "reboot" coming...
Still awesome to see Classic Sonic back. Kind of wish he was an alternate costume for Sonic in Brawl...

I think the anniversary will be awesome and not at all a let-down like the Mario one was. But then I would say that...

I love the little blue guy myself. I ran through Sonic 2 last week, and I think I'll have to blaze through Sonic 3, and Sonic and Knuckles again now!
I would much rather take another Sonic Collection, than a Mario one myself as well.

I'm so swept up in Sonic fever I even considered buying Sonic Heroes yesterday. Thank God I came to my senses: worst Sonic game ever.
